Lung Transplantation Unit

The Lung Transplantation Unit is a statewide service, part of Thoracic medicine, available to all adult patients across SA, NT and Western NSW.

What we do

The South Australian Lung Transplant Unit is a statewide service based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

We provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing lung transplantation. We offer specialised pre- and post-transplant assessment, education, and long-term management.

Working closely with interstate surgical centres, we coordinate the referral, transplantation, and follow-up process to ensure patients across South Australia receive expert, continuous care.

Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to supporting patients and their families through every stage of the transplant journey.
