Food and drinks

On Level 3 (ground floor) there are a number of dining options available for patients and visitors.

These include:

  • Agency Cafe, for drinks, snacks and hot food.
    Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • CIBO Espresso, for coffee and other hot beverages, and light meals.
    Open Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekends.
  • Soul Origin, for a range of fresh salads, rolls and wraps.
    Open Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed on weekends.
  • Sushi Sushi, for a range of sushi rolls and packs, as well as hot Japanese dishes.
    Open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Closed on weekends.
  • Roll'd, for Vietnamese cold rolls, soups and bao buns.
    Open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00pm. Closed on weekends.

On Level 2, you'll find:

  • RetrEat, for fresh sandwiches, cold drinks and snacks.
    Open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Closed on weekends.

Opening hours of all eateries are subject to change.

Gift shop

SA.RAH's Gift Shop is located on Level 3 (ground).

Opening hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekends.

SA.RAH's Gift Shop is run by RAH volunteers, with all profits raised going towards vital equipment purchased and financial assistance to RAH patients. The shop sells a wide assortment of goods including:

  • hand-knitted scarves, booties and baby clothes
  • toiletry items
  • stuffed toys.

The shop also takes orders for linen packs for visitors staying overnight with their loved one.

Newsagency and post office

The Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Fund Newsagency is located within the main retail precinct on Level 3 (ground floor).

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:30pm, and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays. The newsagency is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

The newsagency offers a range of services to assist patients, visitors and staff, with all proceeds donated back to the hospital to support medical research programs and the purchase of vital equipment. In the newsagency, you'll find a range of wares for sale including:

  • newspapers, and magazines
  • gifts, wrapping and gift cards
  • stationery
  • toiletries and pharmacy items
  • movie tickets.

Services offered include:

  • Adelaide Metrocard recharging
  • some Australia Post services
  • SA Lotteries
  • dry cleaning.

As part of the Royal Adelaide Volunteer Service, volunteers visit inpatient wings across the RAH to offer support and assistance to patients and their loved ones. This includes helping patients purchase any items they may need, such as newspapers and magazines, from the newsagency.

Volunteers have a cash float of $15 or $20, but do not take credit cards.

Outdoor spaces

The RAH site incorporates a total of 3.8 hectares of landscaped environment, including more than 70 themed courtyards and sky gardens across nine levels, creating a 1.6 hectare footprint within the hospital. The RAH is a green healing environment with:

  • more than 100,000 trees and plants
  • three wetland walks
  • playground
  • community garden
  • an Aboriginal Garden to provide a place for healing, contemplation and mourning.

Landscaped gardens and courtyards are located within two minutes of every room, providing ready access to a variety of outdoor areas for respite, refreshment and physical therapy.

The garden areas not only provide opportunities for physical movement and exercise, but have been designed to cater for public gatherings as well as intimate private moments.

The outdoor spaces incorporate shaded areas, a variety of seating options and walking routes.

Spiritual Care Centre

The Spiritual Care Centre is a quiet space where patients, families, carers, visitors and staff members can visit to participate in spiritual and religious practices, such as prayer, self-expression, quiet reflection and mindfulness.

The centre is located on Level 3, Section B and includes a chapel and sacred space.

Interpreter services

We provide interpreting services in over 140 languages, including Aboriginal Languages and Auslan.

Public Wi-Fi

People who visit a number of SA Health sites will now have access to free Wi-Fi.

Connecting to the free Wi-Fi is a simple two step process – you do not need a username or password:

  1. Go to Settings then Wi-Fi on your device, and select the SA Health Public network
  2. Accept the Acceptable Use Policy.

Banks and ATM

Automated teller machine (ATM) banking facilities are located on Level 3, accommodating customers of BankSA, ANZ, National Australia Bank, Adelaide Central Credit Union and Adelaide Bank.

Other ATMs are located down Hindley Street and in Rundle Street and Rundle Mall. The nearest bank branches are located on King William Street.

Childcare centre and playground

The childcare centre is located on Level 5 and features vibrant indoor and outdoor play areas.

Run by Stepping Stone (SA) Childcare and Early Development Centres, the purpose-built facility offers up to 90 places for children between birth and school age. This service is available to staff and the wider community.

Justice of the Peace

A Justice of the Peace is on duty at the RAH from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.

A Justice of the Peace can authorise and witness statutory declarations and affidavits.

You can purchase a Statutory Declaration at the Newsagency in the retail precinct on Level 3 (ground floor).
