Visiting hours

Visiting hours depend on the operations within each RAH ward, with variations to requirements across the facility.

Generally, visiting hours are 10:30 am to 8:30 pm across all wards, apart from the Intensive Care Unit, which has differing requirements.

For advice on visiting times, ask the staff in the ward you are visiting or phone the RAH switchboard and ask to be put through to the ward or unit you want to visit.

Public entrances

You can find public access entrances on:

  • Level 3 (ground, facing Port Road) - this is the main entrance and drop-off zone
  • Level 1F - car park entrance
  • Level 2B/C - car park entrance.

If you need immediate medical attention, please attend the Emergency Department (Level 2, facing Port Road) or visit your local GP.

No smoking and vaping

Smoking and vaping is not permitted on the grounds of the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

This applies to all buildings, vehicles, car parks and outdoor areas on the RAH site.

Bringing animals to the hospital

Assistance dogs, therapy dogs and companion animals are welcomed at all CALHN sites, with some restrictions.
